Peterson allegedly passed on on Friday, though her body has not been discovered in her own Greeley, Colorado fiberglass mesh home until Sunday. Peterson’s death is still under investigation.
Peterson became a star after playing Dempsey’s romantic counterpart Cindy Mancini within the hit ‘80s makeover movie, but left the just a couple of years later. She had been living in Colorado for many years.
Peterson’s mother told ET that a basic toxicology test ended up being conducted on her behalf daughter, but the family was waiting on further reports to determine if Peterson had any health concerns that could have contributed to or caused her death. She added that "this is not, in any way, a drug thing."
The remainder of Peterson's fiberglass mesh family will be traveling to Colorado on Tuesday.
